CHARITABLE AND ENVIROMENTAL ACTIVITIES
Our interests here at  OTORONGO LODGE is to use our knowledge and resources to promote sustainable development in the river communities.

In Oran, we constructed a domestic chicken farm to divert 100% of the profits to the community; the village authorities are in complete control of the chicken farm.
We will also be constructing a fish farm stocked with paiche, gamitana, and pacu; all of which are highly pursued game fish that are threatened due to over fishing.

As you walk through the village you will notice garbage pails that we placed in the area. We are teaching the community about pollution caused by plastic, batteries and scrap metals.

Otorongo Lodge is collaborating with the schools by donating scholasting supplies such as binders, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers as well as fulfilling with any others needs of the schools. In return, we are able to promote sustainable development within the schools. Examples of current project with students: creating an artificial beach to seed the highly pursued eggs of  fresh water turtles so the generations to come can consume the resource with responsibility.
